Kitchen Cabinet Refinishing in San Diego & Riverside
Please notice the difference in the Cabinet Refinishing method and materials used by Cabinet Refacing Pros and our competition; you will learn that our finishes surpass those of others.
Our process derives from Old World Antique furniture Finishing technologies and is widely used today in Europe in Antique furniture restoration and replicas.
For all solid color (Painted) finishes, after thorough preparation, we apply stain-blocking Primer to prevent old color from bleeding through. We use two coats of Urethane enriched Alkyd Enamel in matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss sheen. Color of finish can range in spectrum from white to black, as customers desire for painting.
For French Country finishes, after thorough preparation, we apply Stain blocking Primer to prevent old color from bleeding through, then apply Urethane enriched Alkyd Enamel as a base coat; on top of this, we do Glazing to achieve Antiquing effect. If a Distressing impact is desired, we do it before Glazing. Finally, we protect the finish with Polyurethane for a smooth, washable, durable, and lasting finish. Sheen can be matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss.
After thorough preparation, we hand-apply two coats of Urethane enriched oil-based Gel-Stain for Wood-like, Stained finishes to get the desired color and depth. Then, we protect the finish with two coats of Polyurethane for a smooth, washable, durable, and lasting finish. Sheen can be matte, satin, semi-gloss, or gloss.
Almost all of our competition uses acetone-based sprayed Stains or tinted Lacquers. These products are fragile; they can be applied in only thin layers. Otherwise, they run and crack. They fade over time, they are accessible to scratch, they are not durable, and they start deteriorating in a short time in an aggressive kitchen or bathroom environment due to exposure to bold elements like grease, fumes from cooking, make-up agent, human sweat and light operation, they all make Kitchen Cabinets prone to extensive damages.
Urethane-enriched Enamels and Polyurethane protected finishes are much more resistant to aggressive Kitchen and bathroom environments. They do not fade, are durable, and are easy to clean. Additionally, in the case of damage, they are easy to fix; they can be rolled and brushed, contrary to Lacquered finishes which can not be touched up without noticing the repair.
What's the difference between kitchen cabinet refinishing vs. refacing?
The terms refacing and resurfacing can usually be used interchangeably. Both involve taking the existing cabinet doors, drawer fronts, etc., replacing their surfaces with laminates or thin wood veneers, and changing the hardware.
WE DO NOT USE LACQUER FOR OUR PAINTED OR STAINED FINISHES
WE ONLY USE DOMESTIC AND HARDWOOD COMPONENTS FOR REFACING
